What is the difference between a "Complete Engine" and a "Engine Core"?
I am in the process of removing another engine from a car and installing another engine assembly. I never 100 percent knew what the Core engine was. I could be wrong but is the core engine just the block of the engine without any gaskets or anything? I have a engine that threw a rod but other then that everything else on the engine is still great. So if the engine core is just the lower block then shouldn't I be able to just buy the engine block or whatever and put the old engine parts "gaskets ETC" on the new engine core? This would beat buying a whole new complete engine assembly and would save me a few hundred bucks! So let me know exactly in detail what the engine core really is thanks a lot.......
