What is the best Modern Sci-Fi or Fantasy Bestselling novel?

I want to read a good Sci-Fi or Fantasy Novel. I have already read Harry Potter and Twilight. I want to add to my reading list so, please help.

My favorite TV show in the Genre is Stargate SG-1 but I also like Supernatural and Warehouse 13.

Must be a modern novel that is less than 10 years since it went into Print.

My husband is enjoying the 'Maximum Ride' series by James Patterson
I just finished 'City of Bones' the first of the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare.
For something fun I really enjoyed 'If You Could See Me Now' by Cecilia Ahern

as well as "Eragon" by Christopher Paolini and "Twilight" by Stephani Meyer for sure. I love those series! Very "captivating."

Try the "House of Night" series.

It's growing very popular for teenagers and is apparently going to be turned into a movie.
