I'm looking to buy a 99 Chrylser Sebring, but the ad says it needs a "TCM Comp." What is that? Is it expensive? Does it indicate a serious issue with the car? Thanks !!

The transmission in the Chrysler's are electronically controlled and have a TCM (Transmission Control Module). Here is a site with some information on the transmission: http://www.allpar.com/fix/trans.html Here is a site that advertises them for $199, but I would make sure that is what it needs before I would take any-ones word for it. http://store.allcomputerresources.com/chrysler.html There is a way to retrieve error codes using the ignition key if it will work on that vehicle. It may give you some idea about what is wrong. Here is a site that explains how it's done and a list of codes. http://www.allpar.com/fix/codes.html Good Luck
