What handheld device can I use to create a camera flash?

I am in charge of props for a school play. One of the scenes includes someone taking a picture of another person. At first, I thought a Polaroid camera may work well for this, but as rehearsal went on, any type of camera became a nuisance (these are 6 year olds!). I was wondering if there are any small handheld devices that mimic a camera flash. An ideal thing to find would be a ring with a button that causes a flash when pressed. Do you know if any stores, like michaels, would carry something like that?

Cant you use some normal point and shoot camera?

they are cheap and plentiful. Plus, you can preset the cameras to stay on and flash.
