What can be the Problem with My Mazda Miata mx-5?

What can be the problem with my 1995 Mazda Miata mx-5, it was starting up, had to put another wire to the fuel pump, because the mechanic that was working on my car said it was missing? I asked how the heck can it just disappear? could you have it hooked up to something else? well the answer was no, well it started a couple of times it ran, but now it won't start up/firing nothing??? The Mechanic replaced the head, this is the latest glitch. can you please give me some feed back on what could it be now...Thanks
