I live in the chicago suburbs and I am looking for a place to go & camp with my husband. We are in our twenties & in good shape, but are not looking to do trail camping, just have a camp site and go on trails throughout the day. It would just be a long weekend trip so 2-3 nights. I did some trails in the smokies this fall & loved it even though it was 40 degrees & rainy lol.
We are also planning on bringing our 40 lb shetland sheepdog. Any advice on that? Should we do that? If you are advising against it, then please suggest places south of Indianapolis so we can drop her off with our family on our way to the camp.
