In my opinion:
Safest has to be Fairfield, Smithfield, Abbotsbury, Hoxton Park, Wetherill Park, Bossley Park and Penrith - considerable number of mild to moderate Christians/Catholics (Assyrians, Italians, Maltese) and us Atheists/Agnostics.
Unsafe: Punchbowl, Auburn, Lidcombe, Bankstown, Bonnyrigg (housing area with incompatible people), Cabramatta, Canley Heights, Granville and the surround - too many extremist Muslims that tend to have gangs and violence, and Asian drug dealers that murder each other.
