VW Bora 1.6SR with power loss problems?

Hi, I have a VW Bora 1.6SR Auto- When driving without the aircon on, it drives fine- when I use the aircon, it loses power and almost stalls when I come to a stop. If this happens, i'm unable to pull away and have to switch the engine off and switch it back on again. I've also noticed that power also reduces if the electric windows are going down or up? The mechanic is foxed and it's had a new coil, plugs and leads etc! ANY IDEAS?

did you solve this problem?? Im keen to know what it was as our car did the same thing the other day, Driving along, Seemed to lose all power cut out temporarily but with more acceleration restarted continued driving!! Weird!
