One of the underrated things we look forward to every baseball season is the creativity displayed by marketing departments at the minor league level. From timely to flat out unusual, we're always curious to see what new promotion the many teams will come up with and the themed jersey they'll put with it.*
Not all of the ideas click, of course. Some miss the mark by wide margins. But by and large these promotions make for fun events for fans and fun conversation for outsiders looking in.

Now, thanks to MiLB.com, the official website of Minor League Baseball, we can take that conversation to the next level. This week, they've opened up the 'Jersey Joust,' a match up-style voting contest which allows fans to vote on their favorite themed uniforms.
If you click on the Jersey Joust link here, you'll be taken to a random match up between two of the 80 themed-jerseys selected. You'll see everything from the Greensboro Grasshoppers 'Back to the Future' themed jerseys, to the Altoona Curve's Mr. Rogers sweater vest jersey, and of course our personal favorites from the Fresno 'Tacos.'

The Jersey Joust is creative in its own right. It gives fans a chance to check out all of the cool promotions and themes they may have missed out on, while bringing some awareness to those that represented a good cause.

There's also the likelihood that it will motivate even more creative ideas in the future as teams can aim to top the list next season. In that regard, we all stand to be winners.
