I have a 5 cylinder 1996 Volvo 850 (2.4L) and I've replaced the battery 3 times in the past 2 months. I thought there was something that got bumped near the headlights, so I turned off the automatic day running lights, but that didn't help. It still dies. I can jump the car, but it doesn't start again after I turn the engine off. People keep telling me it's the alternator, but I'm just not sure. What does everyone else here think? I just want an idea of the cost range I'll be looking at.
