Using a PS2 + PS3 on an LCD computer monitor?

If I bought a 1920x1200 LCD computer monitor and hooked it up with my PS2 + PS3 would there be any image distortions/would the image look pixelated if I played a game or movie that had a lower resolution (ie 720, 576, 480). Would it be better to get a 1920x1080 monitor instead?

The main thing you need to worry about is the connectors. If your monitor won't have a HDMI-connector, it won't look very good.
