I really want to get better audio when making short films and was looking for the cheapest options to do this. I was thinking of connecting an Azden SGM-X shotgun microphone (http://www.academicsuperstore.com/products/Azden/Microphones/749607) to a Sony ICD-P620 Digital Voice Recorder (http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921665364006) using a 3.5 mm mini micophone cable that's included with the mic and will plug into the recorder.
Will this work since it's a pretty cheap recorder and a more expensive shotgun mic (not really, but you know...)? Is the audio signal coming between these two devices be okay and is the quality going to be alright? Please let me know if there would be any problems using this set-up. Thanks so much in advance.
