this is pissing me off i really need help can someone please answer?

ok so i got this new capture card installed and for some reason when i try making videos with my sony vegas or windows movie maker with the stuff i have recorded and now they don't work like for example it will load and everything but when i neither upload a video or delete a video or even try to save the video it just says not responding and then freezes and crashes can someone please tell me what to do????
oh and i will not be checking this that much so if u can please IM me

Check to make sure your drivers for the capture card are up-to-date and that it is supported by your OS.

Double-check your drivers for the hardware.

Of course there's always the possibility that Movie Maker isn't compatible with your camera. I mean it is only Windows Movie Maker, it's not exactly known for it's abilities.
