Subwoofer and Amp works for 5 secs.?

Im useing a 400Watt amp and a 10in sub. Okay my brother can hook it up in his truck same plugs expect power and ground. He has a 94 Chevy Silverado. I have a 2000 Beetle. So i have it all hooked up and everything i start the car it played for about 5 seconds and then nothing. The amp light stays on but no sound or anything out of my sub. Idk whats wrong so please help me out.

Most amps that I've ever worked with won't run without ground wire but if it worked for a lil I don't know just call an audio shop in ur area they could probably tell u pretty fast

you gotta have the ground. Just in case anything goes wrong you don't wanna blow anything up and cause a fire or anything like that. But I've had that problem before so check if you have the subs bridged. if you do unbridge them. if not check all the fuses around. But first things first, gotta have ground.
