soft/hardish lump above the right side of the anus hole?

My boyfriend was going to the toilet this morning when he felt a kind of oblong lump on the right side of his anus but above it slightly; He said it doesn't hurt at all, and there is no colouring to it.
he is worried about what it could be, and doesn't know what to do
Please help? thanks

Being completely honest, no sarcasm;

I've had that before.

It's nothing to worry about, they go away within a few days.

Not sure what they are technically, but if you scratch them they can become painful.
