Snowmobile belt problem?

When I get stuck my machine seems to not want to turn her track and the belt burns. Today when I got stuck the clutch open and wouldn't close right away, when it finally did it wouldnt turn the track unless I rocked her and gave her a lot gas. The belt was really burning at the end of it. Is the problem anymore than a bad belt?

Could just be a bad belt. I bought a cheap one and it lasted about 1 season and that was it. The next year it was doing just what yours is. I ended up spending the extra money and getting a decent belt and I haven't had any problems. It's of corse possible that your primary clutch isn't working correctly though. If it seems like its closing and it still isn't moving the track I would say its the belt, and personaly from what it sounds like I would put money on a new belt.
