similarities between judaism eastern orthodox christianity and roman catholics?

Both Judaism and Catholicism put an emphasis on following the teachings of the elders of the community. For Catholics, that would be the Apostles, Popes and clergy. For Jews, it means the rabbis and sages of Israel.
I know nothing about Eastern Orthodoxy.
