I'm not happy in my current position and would like to be promoted. I've been promised a promotion for a long time now but I haven't seen any real fulfillment of those promises. I asked my boss about it and he explained that he's just "dragging his feet." Should I start I rumor that I'm thinking about quitting in order to light a fire and get things moving (I know my boss sees me as an asset and would hate to see me go)? Or should I be more aggressive about the promotion and continually push for it?
