It looks that you are going for a sport car, theres something that always matter in that cars, and its performance, you can use a car performance simulator to find out which one perform the best, or even do virtuall mods and compare again.

PS: I would go for the Is300 just because 2004 is going to be feel more outdated.

A Mustang or Lexus for a first car??? You are one lucky guy.
Neither of them are bad ESPECIALLY for a first car. Based on the fact that you are getting such an expensive first car, Im guessing you don't really care about car insurance, as your parents are probably paying for it.

I recommend test driving both to see which is more comfortable to drive. Personally, I would choose a mustang, but I have never drove a Lexus IS300. It really comes down to personal preference though.
