Perhaps it was just my age and lack of sophistication but the best salad dressing i ever had was the one provided with school dinners in the 60's and 70's. It was off-white and watery and quite sweet without a vinegary twang which i don't care for. Slightly frothy too as i recall. Are there any school dinner ladies past or present out there who could enlighten me as i try to lighten myself...
