replacing AC belt on a 79 pontiac Bonniville....need help...?

I have bought a new AC belt for a 79 bonniville and I can't get the new belt on. I have removed the other two belts in front of where the ac belt goes, but I can't get the new belt to go on the pully. Is there a way to move the pully and put on the belt because I can't find a way to do it. I know how to do it on my buick, but I don't see a way to move pully on the pontiac.

it has been so long since i have seen a 79 bonniville i don't know if i can help or not. i believe you have the old A6 compressor - on some of those vehicles you have to loosen the power steering pump to get the belt on and others you can loosen the bolts at the bracket holding the compressor on and it will move in. as for taking the pully off you need special tools for that. (if you look in the center of the pully you will see grooves where the tool fits) and the pully itself is held on with a snap ring. good luck
