I've recently started having a problem with my 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. It will start fine, but then after driving for about 5 minutes, when i come to a stop and try to give it gas again it will sputter for about a second and then usually die completely, not to be started again for another hour or two. When I CAN start it again, i usually have to pump the gas pedal incessantly to even get it going. My friend says it might be the fuel filter. Just looking for a second opinion/advice because I have to drive home from college on Monday and if it's just the fuel filter i could fix it myself.
Thanks.

It doesn't stall when the brakes are applied, but rather after, when i try to give it gas again.
I replaced the fuel pump sometime last year (to the tune of $800 bucks) so i doubt that is it, unless the mechanics did a shoddy job.

sounds to me like it is either the fuel filter or the fuel pump. you need to get them both checked out.
