Porsche Carrera 911 - Rattle?
I have just bought my 1st Porsche and am enjoying everything about it except when I am stood still with the engine idling or moving away in 1st gear there is a very distinct rattle which makes it sound old. (It looks brand new) I am thinking it may be just some heat guard or something but don't really know what Im talking about - Once its off the noise goes - Any ideas before I start paying out money I have spent. - It is a 2002 model. The noise is a very low revs. when the engine is ticking over or I am parking up in the garage - Pulling away slowly. It sounds like the exhaust could be rattling a bit or something like that but I can't see anything....but then again don't really know what I'm looking for. Once I am driving its fine. the car has done 42000 miles - full service history and recent full service. Chain tensioners - soulds a big job???
