I have an 86 porsche 944 manual. Usually it starts right up, but recently it just cranks and doesnt turn over. However the battery doesn't start charging until I rev it up down the road. The voltage meter on the dash reads a low number, then once I get going it shoots up to about 14 and stays there. Is it the voltage regulator or alternator?
