Hi...

Right, so I'll get straight to the point. I'm 15 years old, weigh exactly 13 stone, and am about 6ft3 tall. Thus, my BMI sits comfortably at the heavier end of the healthy weight range.

My lifelong dream has been to become a member of the Parachute Regiment here in the UK, and I intend to join at 18. My problem: a suitable fitness plan. Sure, the one on offer for the British army is great, as is The Royal Marines', but my fitness is nowhere near even the basic levels of their plans!

So, here's what I currently do:

1.5-mile run - approx. 11mins.25

3-mile run - approx. 24.00

Sit-ups - 35 in 2 minutes, 45 no time limit

Press-ups - 15 no time limit

Pull-ups - ZERO! (Can raise 2/3 the way up but fail to get head chin over bar)

Please can anyone help me devise a fitness plan or a method to getting higher and faster reps? I always push myself, but seem to fail in ever reaching a higher level of fitness. My goals are:

1.5-miler - 09.00

3-miler - 18.00

Sit-ups - 80 in 2 mins

Press-ups - 65 in 2 mins

Pull-ups - 15 in 2 mins

I currently also run on the sand dunes near where I live, but have not included these in the plan because I don't time them. I used to run long distances, and my stamina is good despite my slow-ish speeds, but I seem to posses almost no upper-body strength.

Any assistance would be great, many thanks!
