I'm ripping my hair out over this.
I (really) want to play Tales of the Abyss and the 3 .hack//G.U. games, however neither series was released in Australia, and thus there is no PAL version, only NTSC.
I can think of only two options to get around this little problem:
Either import an NTSC console online, which would require me to also have to buy numerous AV adapters and what have you, etc, etc...
OR, as my family has an extreme hatred towards me fiddling with family-owned items, buy a separate, cheap PAL console here, and use an item such as Swap Magic, etc to mod it- which will likely also involve importing.
Considering I also have to buy the games in questions, both options are far more expensive then I would like, and just to play some old games, too...
I ask; Is there any alternative method to playing NTSC games on a PAL PS2 console? Or else, is there a remarkably cheap way of going about my other two ideas? (Perhaps one that doesn't involve importing?)
