EA, no doubt sensitive to talk about their size (it's just so hard finding a good gym these days), have decided to restructure and split their company into four separate divisions. The four are EA Sports, EA Games, EA Casual Entertainment and The Sims. Yes, the Sims has its own division now. God only knows what horrors they'll concoct with so much autonomy and power.
The switch comes after an internal trial, which saw The Sims team functioning individually for a bit, ended up impressing the top brass. Frank Gibeau, who is now head of the EA Games division:

We ran an organizational experiment and it was pretty damn successful. The Sims grew aggressively.
EA Games will be looking after stuff like Spore, Medal of Honor and Need for Speed. EA Casual get Boogie, Harry Potter and their mobile games while EA Sports and The Sims teams get...yeah. Luke Plunkett
