No. 1 Star: Nicklas Backstrom, Washington Capitals
Backstrom had a five-point night in the Capitals’ huge 7-1 demolition of the Pittsburgh Penguins. He scored twice, assisted on two T.J. Oshie goals and another by Dmitry Orlov. He was a plus-3 and won 67 percent of his faceoffs as well.
No. 2 Star: Michael Frolik, Calgary Flames
The Flames forward scored his sixth of the season just 49 seconds into overtime, converting a Brad Richardson turnover into the game-winning goal in the 2-1 victory over the Arizona Coyotes.

No. 3 Star: T.J. Oshie, Washington Capitals
Oshie had two goals and two assists in the Capitals’ huge win over the Penguins, skating to a plus-4. He has eight goals on the season.
Honorable Mention: Tobias Rieder and Matthew Tkachuk had the other goals in the Flames’ win over the Coyotes. … Chad Johnson made 20 saves. … Alex Ovechkin scored his eighth of the season on a nifty breakaway move. … Braden Holtby made 25 saves.

Dishonorable Mention: Matt Murray was shaken up in a collision with Evgeni Malkin and left the game for the Penguins after giving up two goals. He was replaced by Marc-Andre Fleury, who gave up five goals on 25 shots. … Kris Letang was a minus-5. … Brian Dumoulin was a minus-4. … Patric Hornqvist and Sidney Crosby were a minus-3. … Crosby was held scoreless.
