A technique called digital X-ray radiogrammetry (DXR), used to measure bone density, can also identify people with a higher risk of hip fracture. Researchers suggest that DXR, similar to other more expensive methods, could potentially be used to identify people at risk for osteoporosis, a disease that effects around 200 million women internationally, according to a new study published in European Radiology.
