Residents were evacuated as a wildfire burned homes in a north Athens suburb on Wednesday, August 23, according to local media.The fire, which broke out on Tuesday on Mount Parnitha, spread to the settlement of Agia Paraskevi, according to local reports.The Emergency Communications Service, 112 Greece, told residents of Agia Paraskevi and Kapota to evacuate towards the center of Acharnes due to the wildfire on Wednesday morning.Video posted to X by user @oiktos showed the flames coming down a hillside in Agia Paraskevi, where he said his brother’s house was in danger.
