Besides uniting the nation, what else did he accomplish....?
something else but the emancipation, something after that..
 
To "Darren S": The Emancipation Proclamation only declared freedom for slave in the Confederate States, which the Union had no control over. It also didn't free any slaves of the border states.
 
Well first off Abraham Lincoln is remembered for his vital role as the leader in preserving the Union during the Civil War and beginning the process (Emancipation Proclamation) that led to the end of slavery in the United States.
