My right knee pops every time I walk up a stair or straighten the leg. The popping is loud and produces a mild to moderate pain each time. For background information, I'm only 20 years old. I run, lift weights and play tennis but do not specifically remember any injury that could have caused this. It has been going on for about 8 months now. In addition, my left knee (which does not pop or bother me on stairs), will occasionally (about once a week) experience excruciating stabbing pain without provocation.
I'm pretty sure 20 year olds aren't supposed to have bad knees already. I plan on going to the doctor soon but would like to know what I'm possibly looking forward to.
