Jet Star called me today to explained that my flight home to NZ for Christmas had been canceled and to offer some alternatives.
When I asked why, they simply said it was due to operational requirements.
The airline offered to either refund my money, which I don't want to do as flights are now crazy expensive;
or fly home 5 days earlier which I can't do due to work;
or leave 2 days late on the 24th with three stop overs (my original flight was direct) and finally arrive in Auckland on Christmas day.
How can they cancel a flight a month in advance with no real explanation, what are my rights and do I actually have any?
