Ever heard or seen Gremlins? If so, Gizmo was the male gremlin, so do the math. Just saying.

At first I thought you meant for a baby, human and nearly spat out my coffee. So, good thing it's a hamster. I named mine Fluffy. I was 8, and it was my first pet. He lived for two years. I still miss him. Gizmo is an awesome name, btw.
