Iphone 5 from T mobile price?

so i know that the iphone 5 16gb for t mobile is 145 down payment then $20 for 24 months. Total comes to about $650 without the service. So wouldnt it just be cheaper to buy the iphone from apple for $200 instead of from t mobile the just activate it at t mobile? Someone explain to me why anyone would buy it from t mobile.

Because when you buy the iPhone 5 from the apple store you are required to buy a contract. Go visit your apple store dude.
