Do bands seek out the dj/producer to do a remix or vice-versa? Does the dj/producer pay a fee to acquire the tracks and the rights to use them? Once the remixed version is released, what is the split on both royalties and sales that get paid to the producer/dj and artist/publisher? Note that I'm asking about entire song remixes, not using samples in an entirely separate original song -- i know how THAT works.
