I'm looking for a game as a gift (either PS3 or PC)?

The ones for whom this gift is for are 14-16 years old. I'm hoping for a popular game, but it can't be too violent and cannot contain magic. Maybe a racing game or something like that, although I hear they are quite fond of the game Minecraft or Starcraft or something like that (I apologize I can't be specific, games just are not my thing).

Any ideas would be nice. I would imagine they would prefer a PS3 game, mostly because they just got that system.

Try getting them Little Big Planet 2 for the PS3. I'm in that age group and I love that game!

Alan Wake (PC)
Incredible, incredible game. Not nearly as violent as other games out there, but violent enough that the recipient will not get bored. (Rated T for Teen) I've played it personally and it is one of my favorite games of all time, and trust me, I'm a hardcore gamer. He won't be disappointed.
