If you are washing dishes and water from the sponge *falls* to your face?
*falls* correct?
Bc if it is falling from the sponge...
Or is there a different word that would make it correct?

Squirts or sprays.

Fall can only mean downward - as a leaf would fall from a tree.

It would be "sprays" or "splashes". It cannot be "falls". Not unless you are washing dishes in the shower and holding them over your head . If something is falling , it is going down, under the influence of gravity . But if you're standing at the sink, your head will be well above the dishes, the water and the sponge .

'Falls' means it is going downwards and I don't see how your face is going to be lower than the washing up!

'Splashes' would be better, as splashes can go in all directions.
