I have mild-moderate acne, just mainly around the sides of my face.
Anyway, i read that one of the reasons acne arises, is due to spikes in insulin as a result of blood sugar levels rising after we eat, and these hormones can result in inflammation of the skin, causing acne etc.
I also read that therefore it's preferable to eat foods with a low glycemic index, if you eat these foods, your blood sugar remains more constant after we eat.
Now, i also read that green tea helps to maintain constant blood sugar levels after eating. So if i drink green tea after eating, i'm less likely to have fluctuations of hormones such as insulin in my blood hence reducing acne
