mp3 compatible usually means you can connect an ipod, but you change songs from the ipod.
ipod-compatible is where your stereo can change the songs on the ipod, so you can just leave it in the glove compartment and change songs using the radio.
I would go to my local Best Buy to look at them and try them out, or a local Walmart
