prepaid account.? When i purchased the mobile hotspot off craigslist, it came with a SIM card already in it, in order to get it turned onto a prepaid account can i use the SIM card that was in it already or purchase a new one?
You would have to take it to a Verizon Wireless store. The salesperson will activate it on a prepaid for you. They will also check the ESN number on the device to see if the device (MiFi) is tied to a bad account by the previous owner or if the previous owner had a bad account (a balance on the account). If the device has a good ESN then you can activate the device. If Verizon says bad esn then the device can not be activated at all ever.
It is likely you would have to purchase a new sim card at the Verizon store since the old sim card is tied to the previous owner's account.
