i need to change the front brake pads on my 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 2wd?

I was going to change out the front brake pads on my 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 wheel drive. After taking the tire off I noticed I need a star tool I did not have. I want to go buy one but do not know what size to get. Any answers would be appreciated.

Your parts dealer has what you need, just tell them the make of the car and they can provide the correct size.

Suggestion, as long as you have the caliper off, why not repack the wheel bearings? Not much additional cost, just grease, seals, and possibly new cotter pins.
