I need help with my Google account on Android phone?

So, my mom bought me a secondhand Android G1 phone. I was going to download some free apps in the app store and I had a Google account so that I could access, but there was a problem. The old owner's Google account was still there and I couldn't change it. It kept asking for the password of the past owner but I don't know it! o:

I keep trying to clear the data on the phone but it doesn't work! I have my own Google account but the account that was originally used on the phone is still saved.

I can't access so much on the other apps on the phone.

How can I log into my own account!?!?!??!

Please answer ASAP.

Go over to your settings and do a Factory Reset at once. Will get your phone back to new, i.e all the previous personal data will be wiped out and will also solve your Google Account issue.

you will have to factory reset it:

1.Power off the G1
2.Hold Home Key + End key for 20 seconds or until you see a "triangle with an exclamation point and a picture of the G1"
3.Open the QWERTY keyboard and hit Alt+W
4.Restored!

then you'll start fresh with your own google account.....
