The Lautenberg Amendment will haunt you for life. Check with an attorney, but I'm fairly certain you cannot lawfully procure a gun. See BATFE Form 4473. There is a question on it about being convicted of a crime involving domestic violence. Even if it was a misdemeanor, you are disqualified.
