I have a ps3 80gb and my ps2 madden 2008 dosent work why?

you have the old 80gig ps3. it doesnt have backwards compatibility(ability to play ps2 or ps1 games)

there are 2 versions of 80GB. the earlier version (budled with MGS4) plays PS1 and PS2 games. the latest release does not (the upgraded version of 40GB). sorry, you got the wrong one.
