i have a nokia 6500 slide, which wont accept any sim cards?

its locked on orange, i got it off ebay it was a contract phone, so im thinkin it wont take my orange sim because its pay as you go. but is there a lock on that its on the same network , when i put a non orange it says restriction code, so it is regonising the differnent sims but it just wont come up,

can someone please HELP , if i unlocked the phone would it work
