I have a 1988 Dodge Dakota 2 wd, 3.9 v-6 auto trans w/push button overdrive. ?

transmission will not shift into overdrive after pushing button, button lites up but nothing happens, any thoughts on what could be the problem? also the choke on my engine does not work, when engine is cold it is very hard to keep running, warm runs fine any idea's there, i would appreciate anything you could give me, thanks.

you need to take it some where and have the computer scanned on it then you,ll get a trouble code or codes to work with then we can help you,without having it scanned there many possibilities that it could be and i would hate to tell you to start buying parts to just throw at it and not get the problem repaired,at least if you get a scan done you,ll have a real good idea of whats going on with it,auto zone will pull the codes for you for free then you,ll know good luck,
