How to move apps and music to an sd card on a samsung gt5830 android without

rooting the phone.? I have a problem with my Samsung galaxy ace GT5830 (gingerbread) which has low internal memory storage and it has prevented me from playing my music files. I have deleted as much as I can but this hasn't helped. I cannot move any files or apps to the SD card.I know this is a common problem with this phone and there are apps like link2sd but the phone has to be rooted to do this. At the moment I am reluctant to root the phone but unless I can find another way I may have no other option.
Can anyone help please?

Apps you are stuck with, they go where they need to go. Music files you should be able to put wherever you want using a PC connection cable and selecting mass storage as the connection option.
