mine weights somewhere over 300lbs

should i leave the kick stand towards the wind or against?

I cant say exactly how much wind it will take. But if the wind is pushing from the north, youre going to want your kickstand facing south. If its on the side facing the wind and it gets pushed over, theres nothing holding your bike up.

You want the bike's stand on the leeward (downwind) side. That way, the wind pushes the bike onto the stand, rather than away from the stand. Also, make sure that you park the bike in gear if it's either in the wind or on a slope.

not sure if it rolled off the kick stand because of wind or settled in sand or what...but it snapped off a mirror, brake lever, and took out a windshield...doesn't seem to add up but I seem to remember a repair price tag along the line of $300. haven't repaired some minor plastic fairing damage on the sport bike yet! ...something to think about...it only takes a moment to walk the extra distance!
