How long would it take to achieve my goal?

I weigh 172.5 lbs and i'm trying to lose weight for the summer time. If I work out 6 days a week and do 50 mins of cardio on the elliptical for 3 days out of the week and I watch what I eat, no desserts, no fried food, etc. just a more healthier lifestyle, how long would it realistically take to reach my goal and lose at least 40 lbs before July?

any suggestions on anything, absolutely anything, to help me accomplish my long term goal?
